I had the pleasure this afternoon of speaking at the monthly lunch of the Hornchurch Plus business group at the Mandarin Palace, Hornchurch.
Hornchurch Plus is a professional business networking group that was started three years ago by local estate agent, Stephen James, and includes lawyers, accountants, professional services advisers and shopkeepers. They currently have 85 members and raise funds for local charities such as St Francis Hospice and First Step, who were also in attendance at the lunch.
I spoke to the group on the day of the final parliamentary vote in the Conservative leadership contest, and we discussed the leadership and the period up until 31 October with regard to Brexit. I also shared details of the older person's fair I hope to host in September to see whether any local business might be interested in having a stand and providing advice or services to older residents.
