Earlier this week Julia Lopez, the Member of Parliament for Hornchurch & Upminster, asked if the Labour Government is making workers less secure through their reforms to the economy and the labour market.
Commenting Julia said:
I was told last week at a constituency meeting that small businesses are starting to ask staff to go self-employed as they can't otherwise keep roles open because of the huge forthcoming burden of the government's Employer National Insurance increases and new employment laws.
The Minister didn't answer the substance of my point - that workers are becoming less secure because the Chancellor and Deputy Prime Minister are hammering businesses with more tax and regulation. That surely isn't the intention, but it is looking like the result.
