Julia with the management of Romford Care Home

Julia Lopez MP visited Romford Care Home on Neave Crescent in Harold Hill last week to meet residents and staff as part of Carers’ Week.

Carers’ Week is an annual opportunity to recognise the vital contribution carers make to people’s quality of life, and to thank those who provide care and support to people in the community.

During the visit, Mrs Lopez was shown around the home, spoke with residents and staff, and heard more about life at Romford Care Home. The visit was a return to one of the first places Mrs Lopez visited after being elected as MP for the Hornchurch & Upminster constituency nine years ago.

Mrs Lopez commented on the quality of the accommodation, as well as the care that has gone into the redesign and redecoration of the home since her last visit. She also viewed the garden and communal areas, which provide residents with spaces to relax, socialise and spend time with visitors.

Julia Lopez MP said:

“Last week, I visited Romford Care Home on Neave Crescent, Harold Hill, to meet residents and staff as part of Carers’ Week, which celebrates the vital contribution carers make to people’s quality of life.

“I picked the perfect time to drop in as residents were in the middle of a singalong of Sweet Caroline and Delilah! The atmosphere was so joyful, and it was a pleasure to be back in RCH as it was one of the first visits I made as the local MP nine years ago.

“Thank you to the team at Romford Care Centre for welcoming me and showing me around, and for all that the caring community does.”
