Businesses offering support

We have received a number of enquiries from businesses, both within the constituency and nationally, who have generously offered their support to the Government in tackling the coronavirus.

Job Retention Scheme open for claims

We have received the below guidance from HM Revenues and Customs on how employers within the constituency may now submit claims for grants to cover 80% of furloughed staff's salaries, up to a maximum of £,2500 per employee per month, under the Coronavirus Job Retention Scheme.

Furlough scheme cut-off date extended to 19 March

A number of constituents have been in touch with us to express concern about the previous eligibility date to qualify for furlough under the government's Coronavirus Job Retention Scheme. We shared those concerns with Ministers and the eligibility date has now been extended to 19 March 2020.
