This morning I attended the ‘Accessible Transport for All’ event at the Romford YMCA on Rush Green Road to make people aware of the wide-ranging accessibility that now exists on our public transport system.
This afternoon my team and I visited Upminster Infant and Junior Schools where we met executive head teacher, Miss Edgcombe. and Mr Hobson, Chief Executive of the Hornchurch Academy Trust, of which the schools became a member in September 2017.
This afternoon we welcomed former International Development Secretary, Priti Patel MP, to the constituency to join our summer celebration in Emerson Park. Priti spoke to local guests about politics, Brexit and the path ahead for our country ahead of 31 October.
Today my team and I brought together community representatives, police and Havering council at a meeting in Harold Hill to encourage a joined-up approach to preventing and tackling violent crime in the borough.
I stood for parliament on a manifesto to leave the EU - including its single market and customs union - in an election at which nearly 85% of votes went to parties promising to fulfil the referendum result.
This afternoon my team and I visited St Joseph's Primary School, Upminster, where we met head teacher, Mrs Bernadette Matthews. and Rev. John Tuohy, to discuss the opportunities and challenges facing our local schools.
This morning I joined Swan Housing Association to celebrate their Heather Court supported housing facility in Harold Wood achieving formal Foyer Federation endorsement through the FOR Youth accreditation.
