We have recently been contacted by the Charity Commission for England and Wales who have teamed up with the Fundraising Regulator and Action Fraud to encourage people to remain vigilant when making charitable donations.
While the majority of fundraising appeals and collections and genuine, unfortunately, figures from the national fraud reporting centre show that nationally almost £350,000 of charitable donations ended up in the pockets of criminals over the festive period last year.
