This morning my team and I visited Harold Hill business, Metro Security, to congratulate them on winning a prestigious Queen's Award for Enterprise. We met Chief Executive, Trevor Wallace, and heard how he and his father built the business from scratch forty years ago and now employ over forty people and export their services across Europe.
Metro Security specialises in alarm products and has a number of contracts with big UK retailers. They won their award in the Innovation category through the development of their MARS system, a product that helps retailers prevent losses along with a range of complementary retail management, operational, marketing and staff training tools.
The Queen's Awards are the most prestigious annual awards for UK businesses, recognising and celebrating business excellence across the UK. The news follows Metro's success in 2013 and 2015 at the Havering Business Awards, and it was a pleasure to meet Trevor and hear about his journey to business brilliance.
