Jobs, Apprenticeships and Skills Fair

Following on from her recent virtual jobs and apprenticeships fairs, Julia Lopez MP will be hosting a joint virtual fair with employers offering jobs and apprenticeships on Friday 12 February at 10am.

This event will focus on those looking to re-enter the job market or start a new career whether through a job or apprenticeship. Presentations from different employers across a range of industries will highlight the exciting career opportunities currently available. As this event falls within Apprenticeships Week, some of these presentations will also focus on roles which will allow you to become professionally accredited, by undertaking a work-based qualification in the form of an apprenticeship. These opportunities are available to anyone aged 16 and over; not just for school leavers.

In a change from previous sessions, this event will also include presentations aimed at helping people to enter the job market, such as CV writing and training opportunities, alongside discussions with apprenticeship providers and employers about specific job opportunities currently available.

The full schedule of presentations is:

     10am
10.00     Welcome from Julia Lopez MP
     10.05     Guidance on CV writing
10.50     New City College – Retraining, apprenticeships, and support into work
11.30     Wates – Forthcoming roles in construction
12.10     Aspire to Learn – Education training and apprenticeships provider
12.50     MTR Elizabeth Line – Apprenticeship and employment opportunities
13.30     Metropolitan Police – Entry routes into policing

Could a career in the Met Police or transport sector be for you? Or are you seeking to retrain and develop new skills? There are lots of opportunities available and this event will help you find out more about how your skills might fit in.

To register, applicants are requested to email Julia’s office with their full name and address via – Julia.lopez.mp@parliament.uk. Please register early to avoid disappointment.

Hornchurch and Upminster’s MP, Julia Lopez, said, ‘In December, it was fantastic to introduce constituents to potential careers within the Civil Service. I was very pleased that job hunters of all ages joined us to look for opportunities to retrain and re-enter the job market. I hope this next event will attract as many school leavers, jobseekers and those looking to retrain alike and encourage anyone who is interested to get in touch to register for this event.’
