Clamping down on illegal wildlife trade

Today I showed my support for WWF’s campaign to end the illegal wildlife trade by attending a charity event in the Houses of Parliament to celebrate China’s ivory ban, which came in to force this month.

Victory Hall celebrations in Noak Hill

I headed over to Noak Hill this afternoon to celebrate the completion of grant funded works at the Noak Hill Victory Hall. The hall had been only patch repaired since its rebuild in 1949, following its destruction by the last V2 bomb to fall in Havering.

Hornchurch Jobcentre finds new work in Romford

Back in July, I was contacted by the Minister’s team to advise me that after a six month consultation, the Jobcentre in Hornchurch would be closed and the team moved into the Romford Jobcentre. This was part of the DWP’s plan to make its Jobcentre service more efficient.

Trade Bill

I made the following contribution to the Trade Bill which is intended to enable the UK to replicate current trade agreements that the UK is party to as a member of the European Union, following Brexit. It would also set up a Trade Remedies Authority to advise the Government on trade disputes.
